Living The New Life In Christ
A 7-Day Devotional from Colossians 3
Sunday
Set Your Mind Higher
Scripture: Colossians 3:1–2
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above…”
The new life begins with a new focus.
We don’t fight for victory — we live from victory. Because we’ve been raised with Christ, we set our minds on eternal things instead of temporary distractions.
What captures your mind will eventually shape your life. When your thoughts rise toward Heaven, your walk begins to follow.
Prayer:
Lord, lift my perspective today. Help me set my mind on things above and not be pulled down by temporary pressures. Align my thoughts with Heaven.
Monday
Hidden With Christ
Scripture: Colossians 3:3–4
“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Your real life is not defined by your past, your failures, or even your current circumstances. It is hidden with Christ.
Hidden does not mean absent — it means secure.
What God is doing in you may not always be visible to others, but it is eternal and protected in Him.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that my life is secure in You. When I feel unseen or uncertain, remind me that I am hidden and protected in Christ.
Tuesday
Put Off the Old
Scripture: Colossians 3:5–9
“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you…”
The new life requires intentional surrender.
Paul reminds us that because we belong to Christ, we no longer live controlled by anger, pride, bitterness, lust, or deception.
We don’t manage the old life — we put it off.
Freedom begins where compromise ends.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, show me anything in my life that does not reflect Christ. Give me grace to lay it down and strength to walk in freedom.
Wednesday
Putting On The New
Scripture: Colossians 3:10–14
“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility…”
We don’t just remove the old — we replace it with Christlike character.
Compassion. Kindness. Humility. Patience. Forgiveness. Love.
Love is the garment that binds everything together in perfect unity.
When love leads, unity follows.
Prayer:
Father, clothe me in compassion today. Let my responses reflect Your heart. Teach me to love the way You love.
Thursday
Let Peace Rule
Scripture: Colossians 3:15
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…”
The word “rule” means to act as an umpire.
Let peace make the call.
When anxiety rises, when decisions feel heavy, when conflict presses in — ask yourself: Does peace confirm this?
God’s will is never separated from His peace.
Prayer:
Prince of Peace, govern my heart today. Where there is unrest, bring Your calm. Help me follow the direction of Your peace.
