Holy by Relationship, Not Wages
Sunday — Grace, Not Paychecks
Epistle to the Romans 4:4–5
“When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned…”
Much of life runs on wages. We work, and we receive payment. Effort leads to reward.
But God’s righteousness does not work this way. Paul reminds us that righteousness is not a wage earned through effort but a gift received through faith.
The gospel announces a radical truth: God declares sinners righteous not because of their performance but because of their trust in Him.
Holiness begins not with striving but with believing.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your grace is not a paycheck I earn but a gift I receive through faith in Jesus.
